This course explores how, when, and why humans first populated the Americas. Through emphasis on critical thinking and hypothesis testing, students scientifically evaluate evidence for initial colonization drawn from the fields of archaeology, biological anthropology, genetics, and linguistics. Additional coursework is required for those enrolled in the graduate-level course.
